Pets in the supermarket

Been to the vets (by public transport) on the way home popped into the supermarket. Put the cat basket in the trolley and hoped nobody would notice. Which almost nobody did. Is it bad? My feeling is that while not quite ok it's less bad than taking a dead mouse in one of my shopping bags and accidentally tipping it out on the floor by the checkout...

Well, the cat was contained in the basket and food is all wrapped in a supermarket anyway - I don't see a problem. The dead mouse - I'm assuming you didn't know it was in the bag - I think I'd have picked it up very quickly and pretended it was a toy, not a real one.

I was so shocked by the mouse that I didn't even think to do that!

Lately I've noticed more and more people carrying small dogs in stores and other public places.

It used to be no dogs allowed anywhere but that doesn't seem to apply if the dog can fit in your handbag.
