New technique tried - leather hard clay is painted with shellac patterns, wet sponge is wiped over the clay body which removes layers of clay around the shellac design leaving a raised pattern.
I love my city because... It is constantly changing and yet familiar. Anonymous but friendly. Residential, industrial and entertaining. Fast paced with sedate pockets. I love my city because I am a Londoner.

Ooooh, I love that!
I wish there were a cermaics class around here that did that sort of thing - all they do is coil and thumb pots and I've done that umpteen times. I'm, trying to find a potter who will do a private short course for us, then rent us some studio/kiln space, but I've not managed it yet.
I was hoping to see the final glazed version last week but it hadn't made it out of the kiln yet. So next time!
